ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER


Phillip W. Weiss was born in Brooklyn, New York.  After graduating from Brooklyn College, Phil embarked on a career in public service and at the same time pursued an interest in artistic expression, both as a writer and photographer.  

As a writer, Phil is the author of five plays, Captain Dingleman’s Great Adventure, The Gospel According to Sadol, Lesson for Life, Moishe and Mohammed, and Neville and Adolf in MunichA One Act Musical Event.  He is also the author of a short story, Larry the Angry Turtle; an anthology of poems; a treatise on the life of Paul Robeson; and essays on various topics of historical interest.  

As a photographer, Phil’s work has been displayed in hospitals and public libraries in New York City and other parts of the United States.  Phil has traveled extensively throughout the United States and Europe and maintains an avid interest in sports, movies, history and other cultural activities. 
 
More recently Phil has pursued a career in the theater, appearing as "Jim" and "Bob" in the ID America Festival in New York City and as "Sadol" in The Passion Play, Union City, New Jersey.  Currently Phil is producing and directing the staged reading of his play Moishe and Mohammed which will have its 2008 debut on July 25, 2008.  For more information contact Phil at pwnycny@aol.com.wnycny@aol.com.
